The Sea of Tranquillity
Tides and seasons are your slaves,
Lovers and heroes your knaves
You only ever show us one face,
The other hidden, staring into space
And we look upon you from afar, with wonder through the ages
And ask ourselves whether you gaze upon us with envy or grace?
And why you hide yourself, with a veil drawing over,
Until all that is left is a shard of light, burning bright and sharp in the ink of sky.
But your light is not your own.
You are a thief, you have stolen it from our queen on her throne.
And you have no choice but to be our friend,
Like it or not, we are tied to the end.
Fire made us, in fact you are our son,
And fire will break us, again we will be one
But I love your cruel beauty,
And I would love to paddle in your non-existent sea,
The beautiful sea,
The Sea of Tranquillity
