On the Rocks

On the Rocks

Air, cloud and water the separation,
A bitter blow left a spirit in desperation
As things were cruelly taken
A spirit shaken
..........but unbroken
Refusing to yield, refusing to buckle
And with true courage seeing each new sun as the chance to carry on
And with each new step, hill and mountain conquered, a victory for the soul

And blows may damage muscle, sinew and bone
May bruise hope, leave you crushed and alone,
Will test your will, your strength, will darken night
But this true brave spirit, even with eyes closed
Will find the light

Silver Shadows

Silver Shadows

Silver shadows in the dark glisten,
you follow each step, bend your head to listen

You glimpse a person on the hill far away,
your voice has no sound yet you cry for them to stay

But they are gone, beyond the hill,
yet undeterred, you follow them still

And the uphill struggle tests your heart and mind,
you breathe deeply in and at the top of the hill you find

A valley of delight, with lights so pure,
you smile and wonder, why was I so unsure?

Tortured

Tortured

Regret and regretful.
They both seem the same?
But words cannot deal with the shame
Of not being there
When someone needed you most
When words or deeds could not help her, I was there but she did not hear my call
And all we are left with are fossils, imprints of what could have been that are stained forever
But my door is always open and she will knock on it one day
