Father’s Day
Some have one, but really have none
Some have none but find someone
Some have ladders, sometimes with steps two or more
Some have snakes that drag them to the floor
Some have men, noble and proud
Some have men that talk too loud
Some have boys who hit before thinking
Some have men who drown before sinking
Some have guys who rushed in too fast
Some have guys who yearn for the past
Some have men you count as your friend
Some have boys who can’t wait for the end
Some have souls who linger in the air
Some have demons who make you despair
Some have men who linger on with bravery
Some have bastards you’d condemn to slavery
Real men have no debts to pay
Real men need no Father’s Day
